Oppo’s latest high-end smartphone of the year is now officially announced. The Reno5 Pro Plus model is currently probably the company’s most powerful smartphone, being, in some respects, better equipped in terms of hardware and than the flagship Find X2 Pro. We already knew a lot about this model based on the rumors of the last few days, but now we know for sure what it looks like and what the new Oppo Reno5 Pro Plus offers.
The devices in the Reno range are traditionally equipped with medium hardware, but are built to the same high standards as its high-end devices. However, there are some items that do not appear on the variants in the Reno range, so they can be sold at lower prices.
The Reno5 Pro Plus is a true high-end phone
Oppo Reno5 Pro Plus is equipped with a 6.55 ”screen with Full HD + resolution and refresh rate at 90 Hz. However, we are talking about a screen compatible with HDR10 + content, so it is still a top one, even if it does not have the same fluidity at 120 Hz as the Find X2 models. However, in terms of performance, Reno5 Pro Plus should match the more expensive variants. We are talking about the same Snapdragon 865 chipset, with 8 or 12 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of internal storage.
The 4,500 mAh battery is neither too big nor too small for a powerful phone, while charging at 65W should ensure full power in less than an hour.
But the chapter where Oppo brings the biggest upgrade on this model is the camera. The Reno5 Pro Plus benefits from a new Sony sensor, called the IMX766, with a 50 megapixel optical stabilization lens. Next to it we find three other cameras on the back: an ultra-wide one with a 16 megapixel sensor, a 13 megapixel one for zoom and a macro lens with a 2 megapixel sensor. On the front, the front camera integrates a 32 megapixel sensor.
