Nurse saved the day in Brisbane
As we heard yesterday, a nurse who was helping to deliver vaccines at the Brisbane aged care facility where two incorrect doses were administered noticed the error and stepped in.
Queensland Nurses and Midwives Union secretary Beth Mohle said the incident was concerning but praised the nurse for saying something straight away.
“It really takes courage to speak out and raise concerns — this is the vital role that nurses perform every day,” Ms Mohle said.
“It’s fantastic that that nurse did that very, very promptly, is our understanding.”
Ms Mohle also said that while safety is paramount for everyone involved in the vaccine rollout process, that doesn’t mean there won’t be hiccups along the way.
