OAKLAND — Police were responding to a double injury shooting Sunday night on Lakeshore Avenue beside Lake Merritt, authorities said.
Around 8:25 p.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 2100 block of Lakeshore Avenue near Brooklyn Avenue, and arrived to find a female victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound. A second victim was found near Lakeshore and Brooklyn.
Other officers arrived to assist with crowd and traffic control by blocking northbound traffic at East 18th Avenue, while firefighters and paramedics also responded to treat the victims.
The victim’s condition was not immediately available late Sunday.
