OAKLAND — Two men were injured in separate shootings Sunday night in East Oakland neighborhoods, authorities said.
Around 10:20 p.m., police responded to reports of a shooting near 102nd Avenue and Walnut Street in the city’s Iveywood neighborhood and found a male suffering from at least two gunshot wounds to his back.
Police briefly blocked off nearby streets to traffic to canvass the area for evidence. Paramedics and Oakland Fire Department firefighters also responded, providing care before taking the victim to a hospital.
Just before 10:40 p.m., police responded to reports of gunshots followed by a vehicle collision at 87th and Bancroft avenues in the city’s Webster neighbohood. Arriving officers found a male with a gunshot wound to his right lower leg, and a vehicle that struck a pole.
Neither victims’ conditions nor any suspect description were immediately available.
