SAN JOSE – Bones were discovered near an encampment in unincorporated San Jose on Thursday, authorities said.
About 1:20 p.m., deputies were called to a creek bed near Santa Teresa Boulevard and Richmond Avenue, said Sgt. Michael Low of the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office.
“The initial caller located bones near what appears to be a tent or homeless encampment,” Low said.
Low said sheriff’s office detectives and crime scene investigators were dispatched to the scene.
“It is too early to determine the identity or whether the bones belonged to a male or female,” Low said.
Anyone with information about the case can contact the sheriff’s office at 408-808-4431.
