Singer Jess Glynne mocked after being rejected from a restaurant for wearing a tracksuit –

A British singer has reached unlikely Karen status after calling out a swanky London restaurant for turning her away in a tracksuit. The singer, who featured on Clean Bandit’s popular track Rather Be in 2014, posted a damning review of Mayfair seafood joint Sexy Fish, complaining that she was “discriminated” against by their staff.
The reason for her public gripe was that she was refused entry to the restaurant – which has a strict dress code – because she was wearing a full tracksuit.

Along with a mirror selfie of her outfit, Glynne wrote to her 798,000 followers in a since-edited post:
“Dear @sexyfishlondon I turned up to your restaurant looking like this and you looked me and my friend up and down and said no you can’t come in and your restaurant was EMPTY.
“@sexyfishlondon please check yourself if this is how you treat people cause it’s rude, off putting, embarrassing and most definitely not inviting,” she continued.
“We were made to wait and two members of staff came to look at us and make a decision based on our appearance. I think the attitude of your staff needs to change as that was pure discrimination. Thanks and bye.”
Glynne has since removed the words “pure discrimination” from her caption following fierce ridicule from fans, which saw one dub her a “Karen, but make it edge and liberal”.
Others were simply baffled by her claim, and poked fun at her for taking aim at the restaurant for simply following their policy.
The singer later addressed the online backlash in a video posted to followers.
She wrote in the caption: “Hi. Just want you guys to understand that I posted a picture of my attire as I was very aware of what I was wearing and it wasn’t about the dress code.
“I was out on a Monday afternoon and just passed by the restaurant and was blown back by the rudeness of the staff. Once again I used the wrong word for my explanation and I recognise that. Mistake.”
